A doddle. Less then 5 mins walk.

As this map shows...

Walk from the station to Windmill St. Then straight down to the venue. Simples.
Cheers

I am trying to rearrange a whole bunch of things to try and make this and am winning. I may currently be a lone dissenting voice but I think something like a playmat would be a good/cool/badass memento for the first ever UK Legacy champs, especially if everyone gets one as that means that we would walk away with something cool and unique (Otherwise its a lot of money for us legacy loving scrubs) Boosters and cards are prizes everywhere and no one ever asks where you got them. A unique playmat always gets a comment and is also free advertising for next years event.

You are not alone ;) But looks like nowadays its only "get me some duals or theres no point to participate". New players are only fodder for pros providing money to pay for their prizes. There are many people without the money or even will to spent huge amount of money (more like casual players) but still want to play and have a good fun and even if their decks are not competitive - well some sort of small prize for everybody at least in some tournaments would make them play again or even invest some more money in building their decks instead of throwing their burn decks in the corner after losing to thousand pounds netdecked monsters :D But I guess "fun" doesnt really matter anymore.

I'm with Amar and James a playmat for the first ever would be cool. Don't know if it would work beyonfd the first as it might lose it's lustre. I say if there isn't a playmat for this event especially made by Wizards that it might be a good idea for Glen to get hold of Rikk to design one (as we already have had a Jace Vs Chandra battle maybe Garruk Vs Liliana or Ajani Vs Nicos Bolas).

I'm cool with what ever the prizes are as I could do with getting some dual lands but the playmat would be pretty sweet

Ed :D

You are right and... wrong =) Right in the sence that Legacy is not just a bunch of players with £150 manabase and 4 Tarmogoyf maindeck. There are "fun" players here too! It's all about the game after all. What do you want to get? Why do you play? What do you want to achieve? I think that a playmat would be just so cool because it is a... well, exlusive playmat! How could some random 4/5 for 2 green dude with no abilities be anywhere as awesome as your own special playmat? No way. That's why I am after the playmats/ dies and stuff, too! We are not dead! =) Fun players for the win!

Suggestion: Approaching a kick ass UK magic artist to use some of his art on a kick ass playmat. cough John Avon cough

Woah there guys!!!

I'd love to get an awesome artist to do the artwork but... cough... cost... cough OUCH!

I think we have to be reasonable. Also, the artwork would have to be original so as not to infringe copyright so no Garruk vs Liliana I'm afraid.
Cheers

Some artists can do this on request without having to meet them in person. *looking at Steve Argyle and Wayne Reynolds*. Also John Avon could be just the choice if only he has time for us.

Just to Muddle the Mixture a little more (see the MTG reference there?), is it possible to double this up as a GP Columbus qualifier for later in the summer?
